Del Norte High Prepares for 2026 Graduation

Sunny but breezy skies are expected Friday evening as Del Norte High celebrates its latest graduates with a 6 p.m. ceremony at Mike Whalen Field.

Approximately 175 students are expected to walk up the platform, receive their diplomas, and officially complete high school.

Student Body President Gishee Chang will present the senior gift, which includes the painting of the snack shack outside of Charles Thunen Gymnasium.
Salutatorian Bria Larson and Valedictorian Audrey Preston-Sandoval will also give speeches.

One thing spectators can note is the cords, sashes, and medals being worn by the graduates. Each signifies specific accomplishments. For example, a cream sash represents tribal heritage and success for an American Indian student. A double purple cord represents a four-year Honor Society member. A blue, gold, and white cord signifies a senior leadership student.

Twenty-six graduates earned spots on the Principal’s List, meaning they posted a four-year grade-point average of 4.0 or higher.
