One of the most endearing stage comedies of all time comes to Del Norte High starting May 29.

The school’s theater department presents “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” in the DNHS multipurpose room. Based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz, the musical will feature Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, Schroeder, Pig Pen, Sally, and, of course, Charlie Brown.

“I was originally drawn to how ensemble-driven this show is,” said Director Kady Pomerleau. “Underneath the humor, the show carries a really positive message about self-worth … that you don’t have to be extraordinary or flashy to have value.”

Charles Hartsell plays the title role.

“Charlie Brown may feel insignificant at times, but the story reminds people that being genuine, believing in yourself, and continuing to try is where value lives,” Pomerleau said. “I think that is a good message for our students to reflect on.”

Shows are scheduled for May 29-31, with Friday and Saturday’s performances scheduled for 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m. A second weekend of performances is set for June 7-9.

The planned understudy showcase on Saturdays has been canceled.

General admission tickets are $15 and are available at the door.
