Former Del Norte High standout Colton Schaad earns All-American honors during his freshman season at Jamestown University. Click to find out more about his achievement.
For Colton Schaad, this recently completed season was a great start to his college wrestling career.
The 2025 Del Norte High graduate captured all-American honors at the recent National Collegiate Wrestling Association championships in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Schaad finished eighth in his weight class, fighting his way through the consolation bracket to earn the honor.
Schaad wrestles for Jamestown University in North Dakota. He qualified for the national event by winning his 174-pound division at the regional championships at Pullman, Wash.
Schaad was the only freshman in his weight class to earn a place on the podium.
At Del Norte High, Schaad was not only a standout wrestler and football star, he was one of the top scholars in the school.
Jamestown competed against NCAA Division II schools most of the season after moving up from the NAIA ranks. Next season, the team will be a full-fledged Division II competitor.
