Listed below are admissions requirements for the University of California (UC) and the California State University CSU) system. You may use this list for help in planning your high school coursework. All courses must be completed with at least a grade of “C”. The UC is mandated to serve the top 1/8 of high school students and the CSU system is mandated to serve the top 1/3 of high school students. The UC system recommends the 3rd year of lab science and the 4th year of math.

Course Fulfillment

Only classes marked with † will earn extra honors credit by the UC/CSU system (A=5, B=4, C=3)

May be combined with 5 credits of US History to fulfill the second year of the History requirement.

§ UC admissions require two of the three basic Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. CSU admissions require a Life Science and a Physical Science (Physical Science may be fulfilled for CSU admission with Chemistry, Physics, or AP Env. Science).
